My husband’s aunt gave us a photo album of “photos through the years” culled from her collection of family pictures. Many of the photos are of my husband as a child, his family at different events (Christmases, summers at Ocean City) and a couple of the pictures included me. They were taken last year at his aunt’s annual holiday party (I consumed much wine and sang much karaoke). I’m eager to add more pictures to our album, so I loaded everything off my digital camera, and this is one of the photos that I took over the last few months.
November 9, my husband and I made a weekend trip to Oregon and spent a fair portion of our time in Yakima, Washington. We saw the drive as amateurs on the way to Yakima (we were attending my good friend and matron of honor’s renewal of vows ceremony), but on the way back, we had a funny guided tour that took place between two different cars. My friend and her husband drove in front of us and pulled over when they decided there was something interesting to see. Stonehenge was on the tour circuit, and as you can tell, we got there about mid-afternoon - cool, windy, air crisp and clean and sweet as it skimmed across the Columbia River. This is one of my favorite memories from that trip. I only wish we’d had a little more time to explore. Our visit was cut short by my friend’s determination to get us to Multnomah Falls in time to see the sun set. More on that next Monday.
Have you ever been to (this) Stonehenge?
EDIT TO ADD INFO LINKS: More pictures and uh…some cultural oddities. :)
Tuesday (tomorrow) I’m blogging over at Tales from the Crit about my birthday, astrology chart, character creation and…well, not much more than that. I’m also on the Movie Review round this week, so don’t forget to check out the “Odds and Ends” section of Tales. I delved into anime.
If you need a little time-waster, stop by my MySpace and leave me a birthday present. It’s coming soon!
Right. I haven’t been to that one either. ROTFL.
K…I’ll need better directions cuz I live in Washington and haven’t even heard of it.
Uh…directions. Hmm. It’s right on the border of Oregon and Washington, on the Washington side of a bridge that crosses the Columbia River. More directions than that and I’ll have to get ahold of my friend :D Kinda between The Dalles in OR and Yakima WA.
That is an awesome picture, emily. My hubby and I were in Oregon a few years ago for a wedding. We visited Multanomah Falls and trekked all the way to the top…with a cigarette stop half way up. LOL must have been for than a few years, though. haven’t stopped for a smoke in a least that long. It was absolutely beautiful.
for = more
I didn’t know that one existed! I have been to the one in England, tho.
Beautiful new look to your website, Emily!
And, hey, if you want, you’ve been tagged. Go to my blog for the details. Though, I can’t see you messing up this pretty page with something like that…so no hard feelings if you should choose not to do it. :)
